Renovating A Cottage

The Best Self Catering Holiday Cottages in Scotland by Vernon
It is often very confusing when you look for a self catering accommodation in Scotland. Most of us are familiar with the Highlands and Islands, and these are the most popular regions, however getting there can be very difficult and ironically you may well travel past some of the best Scottish scenery to get there. The other difficulty is the online plethora of awful property. If you are looking for good quality holiday cottages with character in spectacular locations it is just about impossible to find. Most websites have thousands of choices and they all say they are great and as many of us have experienced they may claim to be better than they are. Tourist Board website Visitscotland offers a 4 or 5 star property selection, but even though this guarantees a degree of comfort their criteria does not include some of the most important features of a property like the view or the character of the Building and we all know how important these things are to our enjoyment. Over the years I have been involved with hundreds of accommodations as an advisor and I have been all round Scotland and it occurred to me that I have an almost unique experience and insight, and I have now used this to build an online guide to my choice of the 100 Best self catering in Scotland found at Self Catering Scotland The guide is driven by a map of Scotland divided into 10 regions, each region has 10 of the best listed so that no matter where you want to go to you will find the best self catering accommodation to stay in. This doesn’t mean the most expensive, no many of the cottages listed are very reasonably priced but offer extraordinary accommodation. For instance one of our listed properties is a remote crofters cottage, sensitively renovated and only accessed by boat and overlooking Loch Nevis with a view so beautiful it takes your breath away. A stay here will cost from just £350 for a week. We also have the most contemporary conversion of an old mill close to Crieff that has room to sleep 20 that is probably the best self catering accommodation in Scotland with bookings costing up to £4,500 per week.
So my guide will offer you the quality accommodation you look for no matter what price you are looking for, all you will be sure of is it will be one of the 100 best self catering in Scotland.
